Audio Mixer

Mix audio signals with per-channel gain, pan, solo, and mute.

What it does

Audio Mixer combines several audio signals into one. Each input channel has its own gain, mute and solo control, plus a master gain on the combined output. Raising Number of Inputs adds input sockets to match.

Alongside the mixed signal, Peak reports the loudest sample in the current block and RMS reports its overall loudness.

Gotchas

As soon as any channel has Solo turned on, every non-soloed channel goes silent regardless of its own Mute setting. Turn Solo off on all channels to hear the full mix again.

Gain, Mute, Solo and Master Gain are applied when the signal plays back at audio rate. The Output value shown on the graph while cooking is the raw sum of the connected channels, before those controls are applied, so gain, mute and solo changes do not reshape it. Listen to the result, or watch Peak and RMS, to judge the effect.

Worked example

  1. Add an Audio Mixer. Wire two or more audio sources into its input sockets.

  2. Raise Number of Inputs if there are more sources than sockets available.

  3. Adjust each channel's gain to balance levels, or mute a channel to drop it out temporarily.

  4. Solo a single channel to check it in isolation, then switch Solo off.

  5. Watch Peak or RMS to confirm the combined signal is not clipping, and trim Master Gain if it is.
